Leasing a Covenant Stables Horse

Leasing a Horse at Covenant Stables

Why leasing a horse makes sense

Leasing a horse gives you a great introduction to the responsiblity to owning a horse and allows you the focused option of a consistant riding mount to build your skill

Advantages to leasing

Affordable - this is a great option for those who are not ready for the full financial responsibility of horse ownership.

Flexible - with a half lease, you have the flexability of not having to ride or work with your horse every single day but instead it allows you to have balance to work on the other parts of your life - family, school and work.

Consistancy - Leasing a horse allows you to have  a consistant mount to work on your skill and build on what you have learned

Trial Run - When you lease a horse, you are able to experience all of the parts of horse ownership without the initial investment.  This gives you great perspective as to what kind of horse you need and you go into the phase of purchasing your own horse more informed.

Temporary - A great benefit of leasing a horse is that the situation is temporary.  If your skill outgrows the horse, the horse becomes injured or you and the horse are not a great team you are able to end the lease and look for a more fitting situation.

What is the difference between a full and partial lease?

All Covenant Stables Leases are "on-site" only

A full lease means that you take on the full responsibility of working and caring for the horse -  7 days a week.  The fee covers the horses board, farrier work and veterinary care.  A full lease does not include the horses tack which you will provide.

A partial lease allows you to ride the horse a pre-determined 4 days a week, with the remaining of time being available for an additional person to lease or for the owner to ride during the remaining weekdays.  Tack may be available or you may use your tack on approval of horses owner.  All Veterinary, Farrier, and Medical care are covered by the horses owner.
